05/15/2008 7:53 AM Alert

I am attempting to style indvidual items in the 1.2 release.

I'm using a horizontal fixed width layout, trying to get the furthest left and right items to be left and right aligned, respectively.  Everything works fine until I activate one of those two links, and then everything goes to pot due to the ID changing to "HouseNavCurrentItem".

I thought about doing one of three things:

1) Modifying the source.  When I tried this, I couldn't actually understand how to recompile the dll - although I did quicly find the offending bit of code and modifying it.

2) Using javascript to see if the elements existed on the page, if not replacing "HouseNavCurrentItem" with the original ID.  I wouldn't even know where to begin with this as I'm completely brand new to dotNetNuke.

3) Creating a Page_PreRender sub for my theme that would do the same as number 2.  Again, I couldn't get off the ground for the same reason as 2.

Any thoughts as to how to accomplish this?

Also, as a suggestion for the 1.4 release, it would be a better to add a class for the current item rather than changing the ID.  Since multiple classes, but only one ID, can be applied to an element, the resulting behavior allow more flexibility.

Wow, sometimes I'm incredibly obtuse.

I deleted the debug and release folders and rebuilt the project out of curiosity.  And then found that the dll was generated.
