How is it possible to have a House of Nuke menu include the anchor link tag's TITLE attribute??

as in: a href="foo.html" title"This link goes to foo.html"

Note:

The title TAG/ATTRIBUTE of the a href is not the same thing as the Page Title.
Please see http://www.w3.org/TR/html401/struct/links.html#h-12.1.4 for an explanation of the title tag.

Thank you, Tom

Actually, HouseMenu currently generates a title attribute for each link based on the DNN page settings. If a title has been specified in the DNN page settings for a given page, HouseMenu uses it. Otherwise the menu will use the name.

Do you mean you would like to somehow customize the value for this attribute? Pull it from somewhere other than the page settings in DNN?

Hello, thank you for responding.

Right now HoN menu for my text-based menus pulls the menu item from the Page Name, not Page Title (which is displaying in the window bar), so I have to have Page Name and Page Title be the same...

I would like to for example, have Page Name be mission.aspx (friendly URLs) but display Mission & (& Values in the Page Title, and on my HoN menu.

This is not happening for me...

HTH Thanks, Tom

What version of DNN are you working with? And are you using the HouseMenu module or skinobject?

Right now 4.7, will go to 4.8 at some point.

Using HoN skin object, the instructions I had from dnncreative said to install the skin object.

HoN menu version 1.4.1.

Thank you, Tom

OK, in this site, I just changed the title for the HouseMenu page to "HouseMenu Module & SkinObject". so now if you hover over Projects and HouseMenu, you should see the new title pop up in a tooltip. On all the other menu items, the tooltip simply displays the same text you see on the item itself, because it is using the page name as set in the page settings (since I have not specified titles).View the source, and you can see the following....

<li id=HouseMenuNavCurrentItem><a id=HouseMenuNavCurrentLink title="HouseMenu Module & SkinObject" tabIndex=1 href="/Projects/HouseMenu/tabid/410/Default.aspx">HouseMenua>li>

Can you try this and see if you get the same results?

I will try this again...but upon reading this now again I think the problem may not be the HoN menu, it may be DNN's Friendly URLs...which I have turned on...it's not the most well-designed thing.

I think this is what may be taking the page name and using it for the menu, in which case it has nothing to do with the HoN menu.

I did try before with the title like you said, the page title showed up in the window bar (top of the browser).

Thanks, Tom
