| I'm brand new to DNN and skinning. I've found a free skin at dnncreative.com that I want to try to install, but it tells me that I need to use your HouseMenuSkinObject to do this. What they don't explain is how to install this. I have no idea, and I've got enough content in my portal that I don't want to screw it up by doing something stupid. How do you install this to a dnn portal? |

You install the House Menu as you would a module. Go to Host --> Module Definitions --> Upload New Module. The House Menu will show up under the Skin Objects. I am using one of the free DNNCreative Skins in a DNN 3.x environment and it works well. I have tried it in a 4.x enviroment and the house menu does not curently work. You can see the post in this forum called "Installation Procedure?" for the details.
Good Luck. |

In host, I installed the Skin object, then the module and then the skin. It works (4.x, an andreas 01 skin) or at least I think it's working.
Anyway, here are my questions:
1. Does the module need to be installed, or just the skinobject and skin, or should I leave well enough alone with skinobject > module > skins?
2. Also, in this skin, there an image that I thought was the logo but isn't. I was trying to change the logo for site settings > appearance, which did put the logo there, but does anyone know how to get rid of the default image below the logo that came with the skin? Example: ...Portals/_default/Skins/andreas01/img/front.jpg
3. Finally, I have no idea what a solpart is... is this something I need to kill, and if so how?
Thanks for the help. |

I just answered my own question for #2. Duh! Just replace the image in the zip file. That image is in the skin.
Anyone care to take a stab at #1 and #3 questions? Thanks. |
